Our focus now is on what is called “The Third Temple” or the “Messianic Temple” – the one which the Jewish Messiah will build (Zechariah 6:12-13). Since there is a great deal of disagreement about this coming Temple, we thought it might be helpful to list some of its characteristics and try to answer some of the objections about it being a “literal” Temple.

The preparations and plans of the nation of Israel to build the temple are considered by certain scholars as insignificant and unrelated to the issue. The desires of the Jewish people around the world mean nothing to them for in their view the Church has replaced Israel as the people of God and as the true temple of God.

The interest in the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple has accelerated in recent days. A video on “YouTube” shows the building of a special training center for priests who will be ready to serve in this Temple. The Jewish Sanhedrin has been reestablished and their efforts are centered in the reestablishment of the Jewish Temple.
