Laughter is often connected to scorn and arrogance, not reverence (Luke 6:25-26; James 4:8-10; Ecclesiastes 2:1; Romans 13:12-14; Galatians 5:19-26). Such “revelries” are to be expected from the self-seeking pleasure-lovers of the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
