Biography of William Cody Bateman

“If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 1:26-27

William Cody Bateman is a member of the body of Jesus Christ – co-founder of the grassroots organization called, “Ruth’s Hope Project”.

William is an itinerate missionary evangelist who has preached in churches all over America across denominational lines.

Additionally, Mr. Bateman is a “Religion” writer for the Examiner representing the Western Kentucky area. He is also the blended family father of 22 young adults – by remarriage and the “spiritual adoption of young adults” emancipated from previous family and/or foster care systems.

Married to Elaine Barnes Bateman – the current “Mrs. Kentucky International 2010”, daughter of the late Charles Barnes, a patriotic Cuba-American who served his fellow American citizens well in the C.I.A.” Elaine is a mother of a blended family of 18, schooled at Bob Jones University and Colonials Hills Christian Academy, M.A. and is a featured writer for Christian Women Online. She has been previously featured in Family Circle and Stepfamily Magazines.

William and Elaine have five grandchildren.

Other Areas of Importance:

Founder, Hike4Fathers 2008 public awareness initiative; promoting the value and importance of a father’s influence in his marriage, family, church, community and nation. Hiked more than 800 miles along the famed Appalachian National Scenic Trail speaking in churches, public forums and one on one with young fathers about the importance they play in mentoring young people into responsible citizens that contribute to their marriages, community and service to their country.

Founder, Hike4Kids 2002, public awareness initiative; promoting the critical need of abused and abandoned children – young people who have fallen victim to irresponsible parents who abdicated their duty to raise their children in a safe and stable environment. Hiked more than 1,200 miles along the famed Appalachian National Scenic Trail speaking to youth groups, church fellowships and corporations such as Carnival Cruise Lines, Bank United of Florida and was interviewed on National Public Radio (NPR) and the Sentinel Newspapers.

Co-Founder, Home Church Fellowships; Bowling Green, Ky, Brunswick, GA and Miami, Fl., a simple Christian fellowship based on the many examples taught by the Apostles to the churches scattered throughout Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and beyond.
