Jul 28For the first time in Israel, a document has been uncovered containing a law code that parallels portions of the famous Code of Hammurabi. The code is written on fragments of a cuneiform tablet, dating from the 18th-17th centuries B.C.E in the Middle Bronze Age, that were found in Hebrew University of Jerusalem archaeological excavations this summer at Hazor, south of Kiryat Shmonah, in northern Israel.

The Firing of Two U.S. Generals
Jun 23U.S. President Barack Obama – a compatriot of Roosevelt and a fellow democrat, fired yet another outspoken warrior – General Stanley McChrystal, over disparaging remarks recently in a Rolling Stone magazine article. His comments were, at least, an indirect challenge to civilian management of the war in Washington by its top military commander. McChrystal’s firing was Obama’s second termination of a top ranking U.S. General in less than two years.
