US CONGRESS RECOGIZES JEWISH REFUGEES FROM ARAB LANDS

U.S. House Resolution 185, adopted on Tuesday, recognizes for the first time the rights of Jews who became refugees as a result of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Resolution expresses “the sense of the House of Representatives regarding the creation of refugee populations.”

The non-binding bill asks the President to ensure that in all international forums, when the issue of Middle East refugees is discussed, US representatives will make sure that any explicit reference to Palestinian Arab refugees is matched by a similar explicit reference to Palestinian Jewish and other refugees. Many Jews lost their resources, their homes, and their heritage sites, fleeing in the face of persecution, pogroms, revolutions and brutal dictatorships.

Iran is planning on submerging the tomb of King Cyrus (Coresh), the Persian King known for authorizing the Jewish exiles to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Holy Temple.

According to a report by Omedia, an Iranian organization is demanding that the International Criminal Court take action against those responsible.

"So says Jehovah, who gives the sun for a light by day and the laws of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divides the sea when its waves roar; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; if those ordinances depart from Me, says Jehovah, the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever. So says Jehovah, If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be searched out, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says Jehovah!" During the 1960s in North America, a great Jewish Messianic revival began. After tapering off in the U.S. during the 1980s, it broke out anew in the nations of the former Soviet Union. Now there is a cancer growing that threatens to derail the Messianic Movement. It is eating away at the body of Messianic Jewish believers by attacking the very essence of the Gospel message. A disheartening and destructive confusion has set in regarding what it is that one must believe to receive eternal life. It is sad to see the Messianic Movement becoming infested with classic liberalism and a form of universalism that denies the foundation of the Gospel message of salvation we are called to preach, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).

The people of Israel, in spite of all God had done for them, continually rebelled against Him, even turning to other gods. One might think God would have destroyed them and started again, but He had made a promise first to Abraham, then to Isaac, and then to Jacob, that this nation would be His special people, and He would not break that promise.

Knesset Members, prominent rabbis and leaders of the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria (Yesha) addressed thousands of Jews Sunday night protesting against discussions being held between U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Quartet Mideast envoy Tony Blair, who represented the U.S., Russia, United Nations and European Union.

A chartered ship left Cyprus Wednesday night, and docked at the Haifa port early Thursday morning. The voyage was a mini-reenactment of the voyage of the Exodus ship, which was cruelly turned back by the British in 1947 when it attempted to arrive in the Land of Israel.

The 300 passengers, most of them from Paris, included donors to Jewish causes, dozens of new immigrants, Bar Mitzvah boys, and Holocaust survivors. The trip was the initiative of the Appel Unifie Juif de France (AUJF, the United Jewish Appeal in France), in cooperation with the Jewish Agency, AMI, and CRIF (an umbrella group of French Jewish organizations).
