Senator Responds to Obama Citizenship Issue
Two weeks ago, I challenged the Congressmen and Senators of our Commonwealth of Kentucky, asking each elected official to speak out concerning President Obama’s ongoing “Citizenship Eligibility” questions.
Only one person choose to respond – United States Senator Jim Bunning. His letter to me said in part;
“Dear Mr. Bateman:
Thank you for contacting me regarding a person’s eligibility to run for the President of the United States. It is good to hear from you.
The ability to receive United States citizenship is one of the core pillars in our great democracy. It is outlined in the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Section 301(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (I.N.A.) (8 U.S.C. Section 1401(a), that:
“a person who is born in the United States, subject to its jurisdiction, is a citizen of the United States regardless of race, ethnicity, or alienage of the parents." Additionally, according to the U.S. Constitution, only a natural born citizen or a citizen of the United States of, at minimum, thirty-five years of age and fourteen years of United States residency, is eligible to run for the President of the United States.”
In regard to President Barack Obama, there are federal lawsuits pending in several states addressing this matter. However, as a United States Senator, I cannot intervene in the legal process and must defer to the courts to make the appropriate decision about these cases.
Thanks again for contacting me. I hope this information was helpful. Please, feel free to contact me in the future.
Best Personal Regards,
Jim Bunning – United States Senator”
I deeply appreciated Senator Bunning contacting me via snail mail this week. It is nice to know that an elected official will actually speak to “plain ordinary citizens” such as you and I.
Though Mr. Bunning confirms what is already public knowledge; that there are numerous “federal lawsuits pending”, I am disturbed that he sees any involvement in questioning our President’s eligibility issues as, “I cannot intervene and must defer…”
I do not want Senator Bunning or any other elected official to intervene in court cases – I just want them to publicly announce their own concerns – one way or the other – concerning Obama’s right to hold our nation’s highest elected office.
Consider the position all American citizens are actually being exposed too:
1. A sitting President may not even be a fellow citizen of our country. The implications are unthinkable… a foreigner leading our nation’s interest.
2. All Cabinet appointees and Supreme Court nominations are nullified.
3. All laws passed under his signature are voided.
4. All trade agreements, treaties and political movements directed by he and his appointees are cancelled.
5. The stimulus plan(s) are rendered worthless and more…
6. What about a potential Presidential cover-up that will make Nixon’s “Watergate” debacle seem minor in comparison.
7. What if President Obama is NOT AN AMERICAN CITIZEN? Who will go down with him? How many paper trails will lead back to top leadership, millionaire donors and on and on and on…
“Houston. I think we have a problem.”
This is no longer a democratic or republican party issue folks. This is now an American issue and the blood of our nation’s forefathers cry out their declaration of long ago –
“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”
Read our nations “Declaration of Independence”

We have a birth certificate. The state of Hawaii confirms that it is valid.
We have a newspaper announcement of his birth.
Just what, exactly, would be enough evidence to satisfy you? I see that it would be an important issue, but I don't see any valid way to assert that he hasn't answered the question. The document that he has provided, which (as I said) has been verified by the state of Hawaii, is all that they have.
I don't like it, either, but Pres. Obama is legit. We're going to have to deal with that reality.
