TBN Issues Another False Prophecy – Facebook & Twitter Still Working
“For such ones are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. Did not even Satan marvelously transform himself into an angel of light? Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.” II Corinthians 11:13-15
A few nights ago, I sat down to watch a taped broadcast of TBN’s (Trinity Broadcasting Network) latest “Praise-a-Thon” that aired Sunday evening, April 5th, 2008. The cast of characters was a veritable “Who’s Who” of modern day word-faith teachers; Paul & Jan Crouch, Paul Crouch, Jr., Jesse Duplantis, Jamal H. Bryant, Steve Munsey, Donnie McClurkin, Judy Jacobs, Karen Wheaton & Chosen, HLE Singers & Actors, John Hagee, Nasir Siddiki, Dr. Mark Chironna, Steve Galiher and more.
As each droned on about the virtues of sowing seed faith money into their “ministry” efforts around the world – one man in particular, boasted of receiving a revelation from God. He described his private revelation as a “marrying together technology with theology” that was going to bring one of three popular social networks to a screeching halt.
He went on to proclaim to a loud and ecstatic audience that “the blood of Jesus was covering those three networks and one of ‘em is going to lock up at midnight tonight!" He went on to identify the three that God was going to disrupt; Facebook, MySpace or Twitter.
The TBN international television audience was encouraged to begin calling in or emailing the studios with their social network accounts. Apparently, this was God’s way of determining which social network to be shut down by the blood of Jesus and His power of judgment against their evil spirits.
All this was prophesied to occur right at the stroke of midnight. This man forgot to tell the television audience whether God operated on Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern or Daylight Savings Time.
Jan Crouch was bouncing all over the stage in pure… something, Judy Jacobs was in a back corner crooning her approval, the studio audience was standing on their collective feet, raising hands and shouting “Praise the
Lord!” while other shook with a violent ecstasy right where they standing.
Of course, what prophecy would be complete without money? With persuasive excitement, the “prophet” reminded everyone that their “seed faith gift” to TBN was going to show the devil that the blood of Jesus was taking dominion over he and his minions of darkness. The “sign” that would accompany the outpouring of faith on behalf of TBN partners was God shutting down one of those three social networks.
Glancing to my computer screen, I determined that midnight had already come and gone on the east coast – a sure “sign’ that either Facebook, MySpace or Twitter had fallen to the double edged sword of “technology and theology.” I signed on to all three networks… successfully. I read my messages in my inboxes, changed a profile picture, updated my status and twittered my appreciation to Coach Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans for a job well done.
“But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in My name which I have not commanded him to speak or who shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if you say in your heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah has not spoken? When a prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah, if the thing does not follow nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.” Deuteronomy 18:20-22
TBN ministries and indeed, all their “word faith” teachers have raped stupid sheep of their money for years and years now.
True followers of Jesus Christ should have dumped on these “ministries” long ago. Why have they not? Because, their faith remains in those miracles they can see for themselves. To they, God gives this warning:
“A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign. And there shall no sign be given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah. And He left them and went away.” Mark 16:4
Benny Hinn Quote: “ You know, I’ve looked for one verse in the Bible – I just can’t seem to find it – one verse that says, “If you don’t like ‘em (those who rebuke his false doctrines), kill ‘em! I really wish I could find it! …Sometimes I wish God would give me Holy Ghost machine gun. I’d blow your heads off…” CIB Bulletin, January, 1992

I dearly wish that people would turn off their TV's, put down the bestsellers, and pick up their Bibles. I know it sounds quaint, but everything that's wrong with Christian TV, Christian politics, Christian media, Christian everything-else would be fixed if we'd stop letting people tell us what God meant and look at and meditate on what He actually said.
