Obama’s “Birthgate” and “911-2” debacles – and his lack of Solomon’s type of wisdom
Apr 29Recently, an Obama staff member arranged a low level flyover of an “Air Force One” jumbo jet in the skies directly above Manhattan, New York. Additionally, an Air Force jet fighter was instructed to trail this same jet as it buzzed the city – all for an Obama propaganda gimmick. Manhattan’s citizens gazed skyward in abject horror as Obama’s jets approached their beloved Manhattan. Many began weeping aloud, still others ran for their collective lives while still others stood in one place – dumbstruck by what they were witnessing – frozen in fear by the still fresh memories of two Muslim piloted jumbo jets plowing into the World Trade Center a few years earlier. One of the more asinine acts of stupidity ever exercised by an acting President; Obama’s insensitive act of self-promotion begs the question; “Is there any wisdom in this man?" When compared to King Solomon of Ancient Israel – the answer is a no brainer… “No.” What does Obama lack that Solomon possessed in abundance? Wisdom.
Does the “Big Bang” fit the Bible’s View of Creation
Apr 28The “big bang” is a story about how the universe came into existence. It proposes that billions of years ago the universe began in a tiny, infinitely hot and dense point called a singularity. This singularity supposedly contained not only all the mass and energy that would become everything we see today, but also “space” itself. According to the story, the singularity rapidly expanded, spreading out the energy and space. It is supposed that over vast periods of time, the energy from the big bang cooled down as the universe expanded. Some of it turned into matter—hydrogen and helium gas. These gases collapsed to form stars and galaxies of stars. Some of the stars created the heavier elements in their core and then exploded, distributing these elements into space. Some of the heavier elements allegedly began to stick together and formed the earth and other planets. This story of origins is entirely fiction. But sadly, many people claim to believe the big bang model. It is particularly distressing that many professing Christians have been taken in by the big bang, perhaps without realizing its atheistic underpinnings. They have chosen to reinterpret the plain teachings of Scripture in an attempt to make it mesh with secular beliefs about origins.
What is Sacramentalism?
Apr 22Sacramentalism, which is the heart of Roman Catholicism - the belief that liturgy’s form and formulas transmit spiritual power and that salvation comes through the sacraments - too readily creeps into Protestant thinking as well. (Many Protestants still believe that baptism saves, taking the bread and cup brings life, etc.) Alas, we are all Eve’s children by nature and still prone to follow the ways of Cain and Babel. Every place of worship, Catholic or Protestant, which has been adorned for the purpose of hallowing it or gaining God’s favor or making worship more acceptable, violates Exodus 20:24-26 as well as the rest of Scripture. All such “sanctuaries” are monuments to man’s rebellion and his proud and perverted religion of self-effort. Unfortunately, it is all too easy to fall into the error of imagining that belonging to a church and periodically “worshiping” in its “sanctuary” makes one a Christian and compensates for one’s lack of consistent, personal holiness.
The Most Unrecognizable Cult in the Religious World
Apr 22[Translate] The evangelical church today is being seduced as never in its history. It faces a danger so grave that, although we have discussed this problem before, it must be addressed again with new insight and vigor. If evangelicals succumb to the seduction, as they increasingly are doing, then their gospel witness will be submerged in confusion and could eventually be lost—a tragic and...
Shew Thyself a Man
Apr 22“Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying, I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;” I Kings 2:1-2 The words of a Christian man spoken in his last days on this earth can be some of the most powerful counsel given. Such was the case of King David. Shortly before his falling asleep in the Lord, David summoned his son, Solomon, to his bedside. What he shared with his dear son back then, speaks to the hearts of every Christian man today. David commanded Solomon to “Shew thyself a man.” (I Kings 2:2)
