A new category feature… Duh!
“Why are we counted as cattle, or seem stupid in your sight?” Job 18:3

Everyone tells me that I am way to serious about stuff. Actually, I have a pretty lame sense of humor – something to do with spending thirty plus years living in a full house with a wife, a least a dozen young people, eight Jack Russell Terriers and a border dog named “Jack.”
So, I created a special category called, “Duh!” This is where I will post at least one stupid story from around the world… a stupid story for every day of the year – unless you’re Jewish! If you are – then you get blessed with four additional stupid stories for free! Enjoy!

P.S. By the way, I was known as “Spanky” each time I hiked portions of the 2,178-mile Appalachian Trail… that’s gotta’ count for something.

This sobering verse gives, in a nutshell, God’s evaluation of people whose dominating concern is the accumulation of material possessions. Such a person is, by the Lord’s own testimony, a fool.

As the plane rolled into another stomach-churning maneuver, the passenger was probably wishing that he was somewhere else.
Then, just like that, he was.

“How often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings.” (Matthew 23:37)
The dominant gender used in the Scriptures to describe God is male. That certainly should not come as a surprise to anyone with a passing knowledge of God’s Word. However, there are a few references

Recently, an Obama staff member arranged a low level flyover of an “Air Force One” jumbo jet in the skies directly above Manhattan, New York. Additionally, an Air Force jet fighter was instructed to trail this same jet as it buzzed the city – all for an Obama propaganda gimmick.
Manhattan’s citizens gazed skyward in abject horror as Obama’s jets approached their beloved Manhattan. Many began weeping aloud, still others ran for their collective lives while still others stood in one place – dumbstruck by what they were witnessing – frozen in fear by the still fresh memories of two Muslim piloted jumbo jets plowing into the World Trade Center a few years earlier.
One of the more asinine acts of stupidity ever exercised by an acting President; Obama’s insensitive act of self-promotion begs the question; “Is there any wisdom in this man?” When compared to King Solomon of Ancient Israel – the answer is a no brainer… “No.”
What does Obama lack that Solomon possessed in abundance? Wisdom.
Proverbs for Christians – Wisdom

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7
If there were ever a time for Christians to ask for and possess God’s wisdom, it is now.
We are living in the shadows of church wide apostasy, false signs and wonders, denominational bondage, political upheavals, economic and ecological collapse, sword rattling around the world and loss of integrity.

“Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” (Proverbs 20:6)
Faithfulness is like a rare and precious gem. It is difficult to find a real such gem, though there are many who will offer their virtues as a substitute.
Moses, however, was one such man.
“And Moses verily was faithful in all his house.” (Hebrews 3:5)
So was Abraham.
“So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” (Galatians 3:9)
Moses and Abraham were full of faith in Gods Word; therefore they were faithful to Gods Word. The very word “faithful” means “full of faith.”
God is not impressed with those who boast of themselves and their qualifications or who belittle others.

A Catholic priest recently ascended to heaven on a host of helium party balloons, paying homage to Lawn Chair Larry’s aerial adventure. Larry, the beloved survivor of a Darwin-worthy fiasco, attached 45 helium weather balloons to his lawn chair, packed a picnic lunch, and cut the tether–but instead of drifting above the Los Angeles landscape as planned, he was rocketed into LAX air traffic lanes by the lift of the weather balloons. Astoundingly, Larry survived the flight.
Adelir Antonio, 51, was not so lucky.

In the Book of Ephesians are included several guidelines for the Christian’s speech–how we should talk and what we should talk about. These are not easy rules to follow, but are necessary if we would please our Savior and be effective in our Christian lives and witness.
As our text indicates, vulgar talk, idle chatter, and coarse jesting should “not be once named among you, as becometh saints” (5:3). “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (4:29).
The same applies to bitter, angry, malicious speech. “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice” (4:31). And certainly our communications should be true and trustworthy. “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor” (4:25).
