Time Cannot Heal All Wounds – part I
Mar 31“And all the people of the earth are counted as nothing; and He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the people of the earth. And none can strike His hand, or say to Him, What are You doing?” Daniel 4:35 Often times, when God compels our boldness to speak the truth – we Christians hesitate; remaining instead, strangely silent. Such was the case for me personally. On a late summer day way back in 1993, the Holy Spirit prodded me to boldly speak of the Son of God to a dying man – my aging father, Kenneth James Bateman. “Dad? May I share something with you today?”, I meekly asked. His cantankerous response was quick and sure. “No! I don’t need to hear about your Jesus and heaven. End of story.”
Christian Leaders as Modern Day Pharisees and Sadduccess
Mar 30"But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in." (Matthew 23:13) Our Lord Jesus pronounced eight "woe's" in Matthew 23 on the religious leaders of His day. One of the “woe’s” mentioned is found in the verse above. He condemns them for refusing the liberty that Christ was bringing with the new covenant by “shutting up the kingdom of heaven against men.” (Matthew 23:13)
Flee Teachers Who Do Not Preach Sound Doctrine
Mar 28"Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 1:13) When Paul wrote to his two young disciples, Timothy and Titus, he stressed again and again the vital importance of maintaining sound doctrine in their churches. "If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome |same word as 'sound'| words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness" (1 Timothy 6:3; see also 1:10). "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine" (2 Timothy 4:3). "That he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers" (Titus 1:9). "But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine" (Titus 2:1; also Titus 2:8).
Survivor of Two Atomic Bombings Must Die
Mar 27“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 Nearly seven decades ago, a Japanese businessman named Tsutomu Yamaguchi, was visiting the city of Hiroshima as a solitary B-29 bomber from the United States Army Air Corp, the famed “Enola Gay”, flew over. A few moments later, a horrific nuclear explosion shook the early morning skies – in an instant, vaporizing most of the city and tens of thousands of inhabitants.
Proverbs for Christians – Wisdom
Mar 25“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7 If there were ever a time for Christians to ask for and possess God’s wisdom, it is now. We are living in the shadows of church wide apostasy, false signs and wonders, denominational bondage, political upheavals, economic and ecological collapse, sword rattling around the world and loss of integrity.
