John to the seven churches which are in Asia. Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is coming; and from the seven spirits which are before His throne; even from Jesus Christ the faithful Witness, the First-born from the dead and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and made us kings and priests to God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him will see Him, and all the kindreds of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:4-7

image Do we Americans really decide who our next President will be?

The answer is, “No.”

Corporately, we Americans have reached the point in our pursuit of health, wealth and happiness; we no longer see God as the Sovereign ruler over all but a passive God of restraint that is allowing us to rule ourselves.

Thomas Jefferson, one of our nation’s founding fathers, believed this way. But, this reason is both flawed and unbiblical too.

“For the Mighty One has done great things for me; and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation. He has worked power with His arm, He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart. He has put down rulers from their seats and exalted the lowly, He has filled the hungry with good things, and He has sent away the rich empty. He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy, as He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his seed forever.” Luke 1:49-55

Throughout God’s word, He declares that He is the one who decides the fate of men. He also decides the circumstances and the time table for His intervention too.

“To You, O God, we have given thanks, to You we have given thanks; for Your name is near, Your wonderful works declared. When I take the appointed time, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all its people are melting away; I hold up its pillars. Selah. I said to the proud, Do not boast; and to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn; do not lift up your horn on high; nor speak with a stiff neck. For lifting up comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge; He puts down one and sets up another.” Psalm 74:1-7

Throughout God’s Holy Word, He makes it clear that He alone is the Sovereign ruler over everything – the heavens, earth and yes, even mankind. He has also declared a day when everything that mankind has created, will be destroyed totally by His finger of judgment… including America!

We Americans proudly (and wrongly) assume that we have God’s unmerited favor because we live in such a bountiful country – and proclaim the “Gospel” light to an unbelieving world. Wrong again!

God has appointed, at His due time, the total destruction of every nation on this earth but one. Do you know what nation God has chosen NOT to destroy? It’s not America. It’s Israel…

“For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, lest you should be wise within yourselves; that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the nations has comes in. And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, “There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob. For this is My covenant with them, when I have taken away their sins.” Romans 11:25-27

We, the Christian church in America, must remember that we are given the “privilege” from God Himself, to vote “toward” our next set of leaders and President. But, we should NEVER forget that, God has already declared through His Son Jesus Christ, who we all must bow down too and worship, for He is the KING OF KINGS and LORD of LORDS.

“And she bore a son, a male, who is going to rule all nations with a rod of iron.” Revelation 12:5

“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. There is no end of the increase of His government and peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on, even forever. The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts will do this. The Lord sent a Word to Jacob, and it has fallen on Israel.” Isaiah 9:6-8

Whether Obama or McCain is elected, has little bearing on God’s timetable for the end of the age! Take comfort Christian church… the “real” ruler of this world is never going to be someone elected from the Bilderberg Group, political party or appointed by men of renown.

“He which testifies these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

God has declared who is to rule, both now and forever! It is the Living God Himself, Jesus the Christ! Come, Jesus!
