Watch and pray
"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving" (Colossians 4:2).
There is no set time to pray, for it is always appropriate. Our text tells us to "continue" in prayer, and this is the same word as in Romans 12:12, which urges us to be "instant in" prayer. In fact, the admonition of I Thessalonians 5:17 is to "Pray without ceasing."
Children should pray, as did little Samuel. When the Lord called him, he could answer: "Speak; for thy servant heareth" (I Samuel 3:10).
Young people should pray, as Timothy, who was exhorted by Paul to make "supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks . . . for all men" (I Timothy 2:1).
Adult men should pray, as did Paul himself, who could say to the Christians of Philippi that he was "Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy" (Philippians 1:4).
Old men should pray, like Simeon, and old women, like Anna, who "served God with fastings and prayers night and day" (Luke 2:25,36,37). And even dying men should pray, as did Stephen who, as he was being stoned to death, was also "calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit" (Acts 7:59).
We can pray at dawn like David, who said: "My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up" (Psalm 5:3). In a Philippian prison, "at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God" (Acts 16:25). Daniel "kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed" (Daniel 6:10). There is no time that is not a good time for prayer.
One should pray in times of sorrow, and also in times of joy, as did Hannah in both circumstances (I Samuel 1:15; 2:1).
It is a most marvelous privilege that we have through Christ, that we are able to speak to the infinite God in prayer, and to know that He hears, and cares! Therefore, pray! HMM

Many would suggest that the Bible is an antiquated religious book, filled with scientific fallacies and mistakes. Others believe that the Bible is a book of true religion, but dealing solely with spiritual subjects, with any matters of science and history to be interpreted spiritually or allegorically.

The Bible has proven to be more historically and archaeologically accurate than any other ancient book. It has been subjected to the minutest scientific textual analysis possible to humanity and has been proven to be authentic in every way.

“When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously. . . . that prophet shall die” (Deuteronomy 18:22,20).

“God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in His presence” (I Corinthians 1:27–29).

This unusual name for a well means “well of the living one who sees me.” The chapter deals with Hagar when she fled from Sarai’s presence (v.6). The “angel of the LORD,” like a shepherd, found Hagar by a well in the wilderness (v.7). This is the first explicit reference in Scripture to the Lord’s messenger—the “angel of the LORD.”
So Called Christians Ignorantly Denouncing Israel

We summarily reject any “theology” that replaces God’s everlasting covenant concerning the land of Israel with the “church.” God has NOT cast away His people and we, the Gentile believer are grafted in by faith to Israel’s hope – Yeshua of Israel.

Now, if God has a controversy with His own people, what of other nations? God will seek reconciliation with His own backslidden people, but the God-despising nations of the world face utter destruction. “A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, He will plead with all flesh; He will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD. . . . And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other” (Jeremiah 25:31,33).

Because Christ is God, this “gospel of Jesus Christ” (Mark 1:1) is surely the one true “gospel of God” (Romans 1:1). This is the gospel which we have been commissioned by Christ to preach “to every creature” (Mark 16:15), so we need no other.
